“The most contagious thing is kindness”

– David Hamilton

We are all connected, and reaching out to show someone else a little kindness can completely change the course of their day. Kindness is infectious and ripples out far beyond what you initially see.

Inside the Cabinet of Compassion, there are drawers full of Kindness badges. You can take one for you and another to give to someone you know who might need it.

Today’s Creative Kindness Challenge is to make a kindness badge.

You will need:

  • Some card  – cereal box would be perfect
  • Old magazine/newspaper interesting papers
  • Pritt stick
  • Safety pin or sticky tape
  • Pencil/pen
  • Paints
  • Scissors
  • Something to draw around the size and shape you want your badge to be eg: bottom of a glass

Here’s how to do it:

Part 1

Draw around your chosen object to make the shape of your badge.

Cut it out.

Part 2

Put your imaginary kindness goggles on.

Flick through the magazines and papers looking for words and image of kindness and encouragement.

Pick some and rip them out to make a collage stash.

Part 3

Cut and stick some words and images to your kindness badge base.

You could also use letter stamps, felt tips, paints colouring pencil here too.

Part 4

Add a safety pin to the back with some sticky tape.

Give it to someone who might need a little kindness today…
